Eirine is born and raised in Norway, and she is half Greek and half Norwegian. In 2020 she decided to explore her Greek roots and has since been enjoying the best of both worlds, travelling frequently between the two countries. Currently, she calls Greece her home. Eirine has a big passion for helping people who want to start their own exciting careers abroad, because she has been on that side too.
For Eirine, the best part about moving to a new place is discovering new cultures, food, and meeting new people. Moving abroad pushed her out of her comfort zone, helping her grow in ways she never imagined. Eirine believes that every country has its own unique perks and challenges, and embracing these differences enriches one's life.
Eirine loves spending time with her family and friends, trying out new restaurants, beaches, and activities. Horse riding on the beach has become a favourite, alongside cosy days crocheting, reading books, puzzling, or watching movies with her boyfriend. She enjoys organising pool parties with barbecues in the summer and board game nights with takeaway food in the winter. Furthermore, she is a photographer and she travels around Greece capturing weddings, baptisms, and family sessions. Despite her Greek heritage, learning the language is also challenging for Eirine. She’s proud of her 140-day streak on Duolingo. A fun family twist is that her sister visited Greece for a vacation in 2022 and ended up falling in love with Eirine’s boyfriend’s best friend. Now, they all enjoy double dates as a big, happy Greek family.
Eirine’s advice for anyone moving abroad is to be open-minded. Adjusting takes time, so patience is essential. She emphasises that moving abroad is a fresh start and an opportunity to reinvent oneself. She also advises against overpacking - leave behind the "what if" items.
