Gina comes from South Korea, was born in Saudi Arabia, and she currently lives in South Africa. Her own story of moving abroad began when her father worked for a construction company in Saudi Arabia, which is where she was born. At 13, she moved back to Korea to complete her studies. After working in Korea for nearly a decade, she wanted to explore the world again and she worked as a cabin crew in Beijing, China. A family emergency brought her back to Korea, where she started a career as a headhunter. In 2021 she moved to South Africa with her partner.

When she’s off work she has an active lifestyle with outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and her two beloved cats. She loves travelling, trying new food, and making memories with her partner. She likes all sorts of crafting, including woodcraft, epoxy resin art, and sewing. Also, her cooking skills are impressive, as she can cook almost anything.

Gina’s advice to those moving abroad is about preparation. She believes that studying the country you’re moving to and understanding what it has to offer can make the transition smoother. She also emphasises the importance of finding ways to meet new people to avoid loneliness or homesickness while staying in touch with friends and family back home.
